![]() Hey guys! I know we're all short on money a lot of the time, but if you have a minute, and maybe a couple dollars to spare, check out this link! Or maybe at least share the link? It's a great cause. Hollywood Access Services, LLC and Solo-Dx work to make entertainment and media available for blind and visually impaired audiences. Having learned American Sign Language in college, I had obviously given some thought to how deaf and hearing impaired individuals experience movies and television. But I had never really given a lot of thought to how blind or visually impaired people experience it and enjoy it. Obviously they could sit and just listen to the movie, but then they are at the mercy of sound effects and dialogue only. They cannot SEE the action happening onscreen. That is where Hollywood Access Services and Solo-Dx come in. They provide audio description for movies and television so visually impaired people can enjoy more aspects of the movie. It narrates the action happening onscreen so that they can enjoy the full story. It really is a great effort to make television and film accessible by everyone. They have started a crowdfunder campaign to raise more money to help them in their goals. They only need about $900 to reach their goal! They have to raise that $900 or they don't get any of the money that was raised! So if you could take a look at the crowdfunder, donate if you can and wish, and spread the word, I'd appreciate it! http://www.crowdfunder.com/campaign/281 Whoa! It's been awhile since I've updated! I've been keeping busy with auditions, workshops, and all that fun stuff. I recently finished a great workshop with Sam Christensen at Sam Christensen Studios. Looking forward to more workshops and classes!
Though I've been keeping pretty busy, I've been trying to relax and enjoy life a little bit too. I hiked Runyon Canyon for the first time (woohoo!) and am looking forward to hiking it again soon! Here are some pictures below from the Runyon Canyon hike! Enjoy! :) ![]() Hello everyone! Long time, no chat! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and had a great New Year! I've had a lot going on lately and am looking forward to seeing what 2013 brings! I'll keep you posted as the journey unfolds... I just added a video clip of me "getting my Muay Thai on" in the video section of the site. Go check it out! :) The episode of Hart of Dixie I worked background for (episode titled "Old Alabama") aired last night. If you missed it, you can watch the episode online. The picture to the left is me in my lovely outfit on set. I also added a couple of pictures to the television section of the photos page! ![]() Hello there everyone! I had the opportunity to work background for The New Normal again on Friday. It's a really fun show to work! You can look for me in episode 12 of this season! ![]() On another note, Christmas is almost here (I know, I can't believe it either). I like to think of Christmas as a time of giving and there are always people and animals out there in need. I know for many people, the last few years have been tough and money has been tight, but if you have some money to spare please consider purchasing an item off of this wish list provided in the link below to help out a great non-profit animal sanctuary organization, Black Pine Animal Sanctuary. If you're not familiar with Black Pine, you really should check it out. It is a great animal sanctuary that rescues and provides lifelong homes and care for exotic animals. Many of the animals are retired circus animals or were exotic pets that were eventually surrendered by the owner because they realized they were not equipped to care for an exotic animal. It really is a great organization and they are always in need of help, whether it be items off of their wishlist, or volunteers. So please consider purchasing an item if you can or helping out in some way. http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/891CQWU2MA5N/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_ws_HzrWqb0B1JM25 You can find more information on Black Pine Animal Sanctuary and what they do at their official website or their facebook page. Or if there is another charitable organization that you would rather contribute to, please consider it. There are plenty of people and animals out there who would appreciate the help. Have a great holiday season! :) Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend! I was able to go to Griffith Park and do a little bit of hiking with a friend earlier today. I had a great time! It's a beautiful view :)
Just a couple of quick updates on the next time you might see me working background for some TV shows...keep your eyes open for me in the next new episodes of Scandal and Glee! Hey everyone! I added a few pictures of me on set for Grey's Anatomy and some screencaps of the appearance on the photos page! So go check them out!
![]() Hello there! There's another brief article in a newspaper back home in the Midwest about me working as a background actor and the upcoming appearance as a featured background actor on Grey's Anatomy. You can read the article online or check it out in this week's paper back home! Thanks for reading! I tend to be a nature person in the sense that it is one of the things that really helps me clear my head. Sometimes I just need to take a step back, relax, and refocus and I find that I enjoy seeing the world at the same time.
That's one of the reasons I'm so happy and grateful that one of the many things I got to experience on my journey to Los Angeles was seeing the Grand Canyon. It really is pretty amazing and awe-inspiring. The picture above is definitely one of my favorites from my experience at the Grand Canyon. Now, maybe the Grand Canyon and nature isn't your thing, but I think everyone should take the time every so often to see or try something new. It is very easy to get caught up in the routines and responsibilities of life and end up forgetting to actually live life. One of my favorite quotes has always been "Don't get too busy making a living that you forget to make a life." So seize the moment, follow your dreams, and do your best to enjoy life when you can. :) |
