minute, and maybe a couple dollars to spare, check out this link! Or maybe at
least share the link? It's a great cause. Hollywood
Access Services, LLC and Solo-Dx work to make entertainment and media available for blind and visually impaired audiences.
Having learned American Sign Language in college, I had obviously given some thought to how deaf and hearing impaired individuals experience movies and television. But I had never really given a lot of thought to how blind or visually impaired people experience it and enjoy it. Obviously they could sit and just listen to the movie, but then they are at the mercy of sound effects and dialogue only. They cannot SEE the action happening onscreen. That is where Hollywood Access Services and Solo-Dx come in. They provide audio description for movies and television so visually impaired people can enjoy more aspects of the movie. It narrates the action happening onscreen so that they can enjoy the full story. It
really is a great effort to make television and film accessible by
everyone.
They have started a crowdfunder campaign to raise more money to
help them in their goals. They only need about $900 to reach their goal! They
have to raise that $900 or they don't get any of the money that was raised! So
if you could take a look at the crowdfunder, donate if you can and wish, and
spread the word, I'd appreciate it!
